About Torrington Downtown Partners

Torrington Downtown Partners was formed in September 2010 by a group of investors who recognized an historic opportunity to shape the revitalization of downtown Torrington, Connecticut. They stepped up to purchase 7 buildings in the heart of the downtown, representing 27 storefronts and more than 106,000 square feet of retail, office and residential space. Their goal is two-fold: To break the cycle of absentee ownership and vacant storefronts in the heart of downtown, and to involve the community at-large in making decisions about and being a part in the turnaround and rehabilitation of a key part of the city.

Torrington Downtown Partners, LLC was formed by Steven Temkin, CEO of T&M Building Co. Inc. and is a Torrington native. Steven Roth, is a long time Torrington resident and is President and Owner of Elevator Service Co., Inc, having operations in Torrington, Waterbury, and Bridgeport. David Bender, owner of Bender Showrooms, operates kitchen and bath design showrooms in New Haven, Bridgeport, Hartford and Waterbury. He has recently opened a new location at 29 Main St. in Torrington which is one of the buildings recently acquired by Torrington Downtown Partners.

Correspondence to the group can be addressed to Torrington Downtown Partners LLC, 79 Main St., Torrington, CT 06790

  1. Chris says:

    Good morning,

I love the idea and everything you are doing! I am really looking forward to improving downtown and would love to be involved in anything you need.

Can I suggest that you create a paypal or similar account for easier payment acceptance. I know I hardly ever use checks anymore and would love to donate towards this, but always forget to write the check. If you had a alternative form of payment on your website, I would be able to complete the transaction now while I am thinking about it (impulsive shopping).

Again, thank you for taking a risk and seeing the positive in downtown!
